Part of the small, award winning San Carlo Italian restaurant chain, San Carlo - Leicester is a wonderfully stylish Italian eatery found along Granby Street in the heart of the city.
The dining room is a spacious area, modern in design with blond wood seating and typically Italian white linen topped tables. The huge glass frontage allows light to flood through and there is a real buzzy feel to the place.
If it’s fresh, authentic and perfectly cooked Italian cuisine you are after, then you’ve come to the right place. The quality is excellent at San Carlo where you could be tucking into dishes such as lamb cutlets with Madeira sauce, rosemary and sun dried tomatoes or pasta with lobster, brandy, tomato, cream and peas.

After visiting Bristol San Carlo with my wife for a night of nappy free heaven, we decided to visit the Leicester branch when visiting my brother who lives there with his family. We weren’t aware that there was a San Carlo in Leicester so when we walked past it, even though we were exhausted from shopping all day, we just had to go in! We had hyped it up so much to my family that they thought we were exaggerating and were not quite expecting what they experienced. Of course they were blown away. Although this was a different site, the extremely high quality continued as we were greeted with big smiles and genuinely welcoming attitudes and the food, again, was amazing. We enjoyed a couple of bottles of red wine which was wonderful and ended the night with a dessert each, even though we were full to the brim! Thank you for yet another brilliant night San Carlo and congratulations on acquiring two new massive fans!
